7/8 Reading Without Walls Challenge

posted Nov 18, 2016, 2:25 PM by Kim Stuart
7th and 8th Grade Students - Do you like pizza? 🍕🍕🍕🍕

Then take the Reading Without Walls Reading challenge during November break! You can choose to take part in this
optional reading challenge during break. If you complete it, you'll earn a special lunch in the library where we will discuss books over pizza and dessert.

In order to earn the lunch, complete the following:
  1. Read at least five hours during break and have parents or guardians verify with this form
  2. Read a book or books that fit one of the following criteria:
    • Read a book about a character who doesn’t look like you or live like you.
    • Read a book about a topic you don’t know much about.
    • Read a book in a format that you don’t normally read for fun. This might bea chapter book, a graphic novel, a book in verse, a picture book, or a hybrid book.
  3. Complete a short review of the book or books when you return to Town

This activity is borrowed from Gene Luen Yang's Reading Without Walls challenge, which asks people to explore a world other than their own through books.

If you can’t participate this time, you’ll get a chance during other breaks!
