iPads in Kindergarten

The Kindergartners came to the library this week to learn how to take care of iPads at school.  We talked about how the iPad is a learning tool and how rules for using an iPad at school might be different from using an iPad at home. We mainly talked about how important it is to keep our iPads safe.

We talked about iPads being a GREEN ZONE activity. This refers to the zones of regulation Ms. Colgate, Town's Lower School Counselor, has talked about with the students.

We also talked about sitting, holding the iPad firmly, and walking carefully with an iPad.  We went on an iPad parade around the library modelling how we should treat our iPads.

We also talked about making sure to remove our headphones before walking away from an iPad.  This is a hard one for Kindergartners to remember, so we practiced this as well.

The Kindergarten teachers are excited to use iPads in the classroom and now that the boys have had their training, they are ready to go!
