MyQuest on Destiny Quest

posted Jan 4, 2017, 10:16 AM by Julie Alonso
Second Grade was introduced to some of the features of MyQuest today, which is a safe, closed social media aspect to the Town Library's online catalog, Destiny Quest. It's the perfect way for kids to start practicing safe online behavior using social networking sites. MyQuest is a feature that is entirely moderated and can be switched off if used incorrectly, so it is a wonderful training ground for appropriate usage.

While no boy is ever required to engage in the social media aspect of MyQuest, we do ask that students learn to sign in to Destiny Quest so that they may be able to have access to their library information, ability to request or renew books, and be able to recommend or review books as well. If students do wish to engage in MyQuest, there are a few rules:
  1. Always have permission to be online.
  2. Friend Ms. Alonso and Ms. Stuart.
  3. Be kind online. Accept friend requests from every boy if you know them.
  4. Only friend people you know!
  5. Only log in to your own account. Logging in to someone else's account is not okay.
  6. Use MyQuest appropriately.  MyQuest is a way to recommend and discuss books.
Logging in is very easy.  Lower School student user names follow the convention last name+grad year (example: smith23) and the password for students in lower school is tiger. If your log in does not seem to work, please contact Ms. Alonso or Ms. Stuart!
