New Book Round Up!

Yesterday, a parent asked how we decide what books to order for the library. We are lucky at the Town School Library, because our selection process is largely based on requests, recommendations, and reviews. We are generally able to order anything that fits our selection criteria in a timely manner, whether that means acquiring several new books on Roman armor for the Latin curriculum, a second grade-friendly book on the Chinese zodiac, a replacement copy of The Hobbit for an eager reader, or a request from a 4th grader for a series that was not even on our radar.

Our main source of book reviews is from School Library Journal, which is a monthly review journal focusing on books for school-aged children. We also read other professional reviews on Amazon, as well as taking into account customer reviews.
