Today during Professional Growth we presented a few web tools that we couldn't live without. Thanks to those who attended! If you couldn't make it, here is a quick summary of what we covered:
  • Reflector ($12.99, download) - Reflects iPhones and iPads to your laptop for easy projection. It's like having Apple TV on your computer!
  • Canva (free, web) - Makes easy, beautiful flyers and posters. Better than Word and easier than Photoshop.
  • Custom Google (free, web) - Smaller version of Google that you customize! Put in the websites that you want it to search, protecting your students from the inappropriate stuff Google often picks up.
  • Town Library Resources (free, web) - Every online tool the librarians could think of for Upper School students, Lower School students, and parents, including summer reading lists!
  • Town Library Teacher Resources (free, web) - Every online tool the librarians could think of for teachers. Includes Global Ed, STEM, Art, Languages, History, Art, Music, and more.
  • VLC Media Player (free, download) - Plays almost all multimedia files, even if they aren't compatible with your device! Great when you are getting a file from a PC and want to play it on a Mac (or vice versa).
  • FlipHTML5 (free, web) - Uploads any PDF file and converts it into an ebook with cool swishing noise! Check our Pawprints link for examples.
