The Town School Library uses the METIS library categorization system, designed for and by children, to organize our library collection.  The main categories are:

The books are organized by these categories and further subdivided for ease of finding materials.  Books are shelved in Upper School (signified by a U) and Lower School (signified by an L) areas of the library. The designation is based on reading level, but students from all grades may read and check out all books labeled with a U or L.  Young Adult (YA) books are still restricted to grades 6-8.
